If you’re thinking about bring some (or more) employees back to the office, you’ll need to stay on top of COVID-19 disinfecting measures. Below are just a few of the ways you can keep yourself, your staff, and your clients safe.
Wipe it down
You’ll want to sanitize and disinfect high touch surfaces on a regular basis. Examples of these types of surfaces include doorknobs, light switches, toilet handles, faucets, computer mouses, chairs and desktops. If your facility uses shopping carts or baskets, shopping carts and baskets should be sanitized before each use. Consider adding hand sanitizing stations (equipped with hand sanitizer or wipes) at the front desk / near the front door and outside of each bathroom.
Don’t mix products-
When you’re cleaning your office, be sure to use an EPA-approved disinfectant that’s proven to work against COVID-19. If you’re diluting cleaning solutions (and plan to put the diluted solutions into spray bottles)- be sure to label each bottle clearly. Don’t mix various chemical products (as this could create dangerous, toxic compounds), and store chemicals in a safe and secure place.
How to clean electronics
If you plan to wipe down electronics, such as printers, scanners and computer keyboards, be careful. If you spill too much liquid cleaning solution into these devices, it could lead to an irreparable malfunction. If you can, consider adding a wipeable cover atop of electronics (such as ATM checkout terminals) when appropriate. If you’re unable attach a wipeable cover, follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for sanitizing and disinfecting. In the absence of guidance, consider using an alcohol-based spray or wipe. The solution should contain at least 70% alcohol.
